Hello everyone, this month i’m hosting the challenge at Country View Crafts and my challenge is to produce something that connects to Autumn, so colours as I’ve chosen or other areas associated with autumn such as leaves, autumn flowers, fruits or nuts. Animals you expect to see in autumn such as hedgehogs, dormice, squirrels, red deer, or maybe you are shroom person, and want to showcase a troop of mushrooms. The list is endless but if it doesn’t connect to Autumn it will be removed from the draw so check out the rules carefully. So onto my make which I hopes Inspires you.
So I have made 4 thank you cards from a master document where I painted loose florals with watercolour paint in traditional colours as well as some sparkly paint which has added a touch of decadents to the images. So lets start at the beginning:
My page is rough watercolour paper from my stash, and my paints are a mix of Jane Davenport watercolour , plus some handmade paints by Campbella. I started in one corner and added my florals and leaves. I didn’t really plan out what was going where as I prefer to go with the flow and see what happens. I continued until the page was full, but as I worked down I did start to ensure the page looked balanced with colours and the amount of flowers and leaves. It didnt matter too much as I knew I was going to cut it up into 4. Let’s looks at the progress.
And here’s the full page
Once it was completely dry I cut the edges off and then cut it into 4 equal pieces.
I was pleased how it cut up as I managed to get some interest on each piece.
Next I cut some pearl card from Cricut to mount the images onto and chose to use Kraft cards for the main card.
I knew I wanted to cut the sentiment from glitter adhesive vinyl so I chose to cut a banner of the same backing card to add the sentiment to, I cut the banner the size of the card at 1 cm then in Design space I created my sentiment sizing it appropriately and cut them from smart material on the Joy. Then added them to the card and to finish off I added some beads and sequins. Let’s take a closer look.
I hope these have inspired you to play along. Ill see you soon with my second make
